Australia's South West Part 1 – Bunbury, Busselton, Margaret River, Augusta

Two weeks we crossed with a camper Australia's South West. The first was a change, because for almost a year I did not drive more car and then you go in Australia also on the “wrong” Page, namely left. But it was not long and I got used to it quickly. Das Gute am Camper war, that we always had our bed and the kitchen here.
The first stop on our tour was at the supermarket to stock to us for the next time with provisions. Then we drove along the coast, through the forests and meadows with herds of cattle, to the south. After a few kilometers we made our first encounter with a kangaroo. But unfortunately it was dead on the roadside. The first night we stayed in Bunbury. Arrived at the campsite blowing us quite a fresh wind in your ears. The further we drove to the south, the colder it was. After a beautiful sunset we crawled into our sleeping bags and made ourselves comfortable in the camper.

From Bunbury out we went the next morning to Busselton. The Busselton Jetty is the longest wooden boat jetty in the southern hemisphere. Almost 2km long it extends out into the sea. Boats not put here but on a long time and thus it is only an attraction for tourists. We walked for a while on the beach before we drove further along the Geographe Bay with many beautiful beaches to Leutturm at Cape Naturaliste. From here, our route led further into the Margaret River Wine Region. In the evening we looked for a campsite in the woods near Gracetown here and were almost the only guests.
The Margaret River region is known for wine and everywhere you can see vineyards. Of course we could not resist that and reported us for the next day to a wine tour. We started the day with the first wine tasting. After that we visited not only more wineries, but also a chocolate factory, tried cheese, To die, Vinegars, Sausage wild, Kangaroo meat, and last but not least also beer. Nicole had especially liked the Chocolate Factory. There she has several times tasted the chocolate. The beer has us not so confident, everything else was very tasty and at the end of the day we were pretty full – naturally from eating, nicht vom Alkohol 😉
After two nights we left Gracetown and made our way toward Augusta, zum Kap Leeuwin, the most south-westerly point of Australia. From here our path led on through forests with huge Karribäumen, einer Eukalyptusart, which grows only in the south west of Australia. Our next destination was Windy Harbour…
